Learning Disabilities

People with learning disabilities deserve to live ordinary lives – in real homes, with familiar faces and the right level of support to grow in confidence and independence over time. That is what Mediline has been doing since 1986.

How We Make a Difference

For people with learning disabilities, consistency is everything.

Familiar routines, trusted relationships and clear communication create the foundation for confidence, independence and a genuine sense of belonging.

At Mediline, we take the time to understand each person – how they communicate, what they enjoy, what makes them feel safe and what they want to achieve. We build support around these things, not around a label or a system. Our teams stay, our routines are predictable and our communication is always clear, calm and respectful.

How We Support

We support people with a wide range of learning disabilities, from mild to profound.

Support is always shaped around the individual and may include help with daily living skills, personal care, meal preparation, managing money, accessing education or employment, and taking part in community life.

We use communication approaches aligned with Accessible Information Standards to make sure every person can understand the support they receive and the decisions being made about their life. Families and professionals are kept informed and involved throughout.
