Safeguarding is not a box to tick. It’s a fundamental part of how we work – built into our culture, our training and every decision we make about the people we support.
Our Safeguarding Commitment
At Mediline, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We promote a culture of openness where concerns are always welcome, always taken seriously and always acted upon. Nobody who raises a concern should ever feel they need to think twice about doing so.
Our safeguarding policies and processes are communicated clearly to all staff from day one. Our induction programme ensures every new employee understands their responsibilities and knows exactly what to do if a concern arises. Our Board of Directors receives regular reports on all safeguarding matters and takes direct accountability for ensuring our policies are followed in practice.
Our Safeguarding Approach
A clear, consistent process that ensures every concern is heard, recorded and acted upon appropriately.
01 – Recognise
All staff are trained to recognise the signs of abuse, neglect or harm – and to understand that safeguarding concerns can arise in any setting, at any time.
02 – Respond
When a concern is identified, staff are expected to respond calmly and immediately – supporting the individual, not investigating themselves. The priority is always the safety and wellbeing of the person involved.
03 – Record
All concerns are recorded clearly and promptly. Accurate, timely records are essential to ensuring concerns are handled correctly and patterns are identified early.
04 – Report
Concerns are reported to the appropriate person without delay – whether that is a line manager, a designated safeguarding lead or directly to the local authority safeguarding team where required.
05 – Review
Following any safeguarding concern, we review what happened, what we learned and whether any changes to practice, training or policy are needed. We do not close a concern until we are confident the right outcome has been reached.
