Anti-Slavery & Modern Slavery Statement
Mediline Supported Living is committed to conducting all aspects of its business ethically, with integrity, and in full compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. We have a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, including slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour, and human trafficking.
We recognise our responsibility to take a robust approach to preventing modern slavery within our operations and supply chains. Although we are not legally required to produce a Modern Slavery Statement under the Act, we voluntarily publish this statement on an annual basis as part of our commitment to transparency and ethical practice.
This statement is approved and signed by the Managing Director, Chris Hartshorne, who is responsible for its ongoing review and implementation.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- Acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships.
- Preventing modern slavery in our operations and supply chains.
- Ensuring all employees, contractors, suppliers, and business partners adhere to the highest standards of conduct.
- Investigating any suspected breaches and taking appropriate action where necessary.
Due Diligence and Supply Chains
We undertake due diligence on our suppliers and business partners to ensure compliance with modern slavery legislation. This includes:
- A structured supplier selection and vetting process.
- Inclusion of contractual obligations requiring compliance with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
- Regular monitoring and review of supplier practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Risk Management
We regularly assess potential risks of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains. Where risks are identified, we implement appropriate controls and mitigation measures. These assessments are reviewed and updated on a regular basis.
Training and Awareness
We provide guidance and awareness to employees to help them identify the signs of modern slavery. Relevant staff receive training to ensure they understand how to recognise and report concerns appropriately.
Reporting Concerns
We encourage all employees and stakeholders to report any concerns relating to modern slavery. Reports can be made confidentially via:
- Our whistleblowing procedures, or
- Directly to a designated senior manager via: cccc@medilinesupportedliving.co.uk
All concerns will be treated seriously, investigated thoroughly, and handled with strict confidentiality. We are committed to protecting whistleblowers from retaliation.
